From a technological standpoint, its most distinguishing component is always that it was the first Winchester lever action fed from an inner box magazine.I don’t think there’s a rimfire lever action as beloved because the Marlin 39A. It tops many shooters’ lists given that the best .22 LR ever produced. The legacy with the 39A is intriguing.
